Bob and Linda

Welcome to

Train up your
Children

My name is Bob and my wife is Linda.  We live in Post Falls, Idaho and have lived in various cities in Idaho for more than 47 years. Linda and I have been married over 45 years and had a challenging blended family of six children (2, 2, and 2), sometimes blended and sometimes not.  Now we are empty nesters as our adult children have moved on and are scattered about the country. Today retired, many of my working years were in higher education.  Linda continues to serve as a clinical herbalist using natural remedies and resources to help people with their health.

Linda and I are long time believers and followers of Jesus and we've served in a variety of ministries; I much in teaching elementary school age children. Over the years I realized that ministering to children in most churches is carried out through "Sunday School".  However, I do realize that churches may offer mid-week services and ministries such as Awana, Trail Life, Royal Rangers, American Heritage Girls, and the like. That being said, I realize that while the local church can assist you in training up your children, the duty and responsibility for doing so belongs to you, the parents.  It's a seven day a week full-time job.

To help with training up your children I developed and accumulated a variety of resources and tools which I share with you on the following pages. I wish I had had them when Linda and I were raising and training up our family.  They would have been invaluable!  Hopefully they will be of value to you.

Please take time, at your convenience, to examine the following resources and tools to see if they can be beneficial to you and your family.  Thank you.

Bob

Proverbs 22:6

Proverbs 22:6 states, “
Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

But what does that mean?

I could give you an answer, but a better explanation is provided on the
GotQuestions.org website.  So here’s the link and the answer provided.  Please take the time to read it.
What does it mean to train up a child in the way he should go? | GotQuestions.org

Note the final sentence in the answer.  Parents have been given the privilege of being stewards of their children's lives for a very short time, but the teaching and training they provide is eternal."

That being said, and if you believe it, then this website provides several resources for your use in teaching and training your children in the knowledge and understanding of God and preparing them for the decision for the gift of Salvation. (Ephesians 6:4).
