Paul and Silas in Prison – Acts 16:16-24The Story in a nutshell One Day a demon-possessed slave girl started following Paul and Silas; she was a fortune teller who made a lot of money for her master. Day after day she followed them shouting that they were the servants of the Most High God and that they had the message of Salvation. This really bothered Paul. Finally, Paul became so frustrated that he turned and spoke to the demon. “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And instantly the demon left her. But now there was a problem. There would be no more fortune-telling and no more money for the master. So, the master and some others grabbed Paul and Silas and dragged the two before the authorities in the marketplace. “These two are messing things up!” A mob quickly formed and the officials ordered that Paul and Silas be beaten and thrown into prison.
