Jesus Calms the Storm – Mark 4:35-41The Story in a Nutshell The story continues… Jesus had been teaching by the lakeshore all day. As evening approached he decided to take the disciples and go to the other side of the lake. He got into the boat and went to the back. He was tired, so he lay down and went to sleep. The disciples loaded up and started out for the other side, but soon a fierce storm came upon them. The winds howled and the waves started breaking over the boat. They were in danger of sinking. In panic the disciple ran to Jesus. “Wake Up,” they shouted. ”We are about to drown, don’t you care?” Jesus woke, rebuked the wind and told the water to be quiet. Immediately the wind stopped and the waters calmed. Everything was strangely quiet. Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Why were you so afraid? Do you still not have faith in me? The disciples were in awe. They didn’t know what to say. Among themselves, however, they asked, “Who is this man that even the wind and waves obey him?” And they continued to the other side of the lake. To be continued… What did you learn from the story?
